The ceremony and reception call for formal or cocktail attire. Think floor-length gowns or dressy cocktail dresses for women, and suits or dress shirts with slacks for men. Since the ceremony is outdoors, we recommend block heels or wedges rather than stilettos. January in Puerto Vallarta is warm (around 80°F) so lightweight, breathable fabrics are your friend. Please avoid wearing white, ivory, or cream. For the Welcome Party on Friday, resort casual is perfect. And Sunday’s Pool Day is exactly what it sounds like — swimwear and sunscreen!

As much as we love them, dogs will need to stay home for this one. We’ll miss their faces, but we promise to make it up to them with extra belly rubs when we’re back!

Yes! A valid passport is required for travel to Mexico. Please make sure yours is valid for at least six months beyond the travel dates. If you need to renew, we recommend starting the process as soon as possible.

Puerto Vallarta is one of the safest tourist destinations in Mexico and is a popular spot for destination weddings. The resort area is well-maintained and secure. As with any international travel, use common sense and stay aware of your surroundings.

Kids are welcome at Garza Blanca Resort, which is family-friendly and offers babysitting services. However, please note that Hotel Mousai is adults only — no children are permitted at Hotel Mousai or its amenities. Please let us know if you’ll be bringing little ones so we can plan accordingly!

January is one of the best months to visit Puerto Vallarta! Expect warm, sunny days with highs around 80°F (27°C) and comfortable evenings in the low 70s. Rain is very unlikely. Pack sunscreen, sunglasses, and a light layer for the evenings.

We recommend sticking to bottled water, which the resort provides complimentary in every room. Ice at the resort is made with purified water, so cocktails are fair game!

The Mexican peso (MXN) is the local currency. US dollars are widely accepted at the resort and in most tourist areas. Having some pesos on hand for tips and local shopping is helpful. ATMs are available at the resort and airport.

Sunscreen (reef-safe preferred), swimwear, light and breathable clothing, a hat, sandals, and something dressier for the ceremony and reception. Don’t forget your passport and any medications you may need. The resort has a gift shop for anything you forget!
